PowerPoint Karaoke and Filetype Search

A member of our Microsoft Toastmasters Online club mentioned at a meeting “has anyone heard of Battledecks”? I thought he meant Battleship (the game), but Battledecks (also known as PowerPoint Karaoke) is a game where you have random PowerPoint slides to present. The original framework has auto advancing slides and you don’t know what’s coming next. We tried this at a Toastmasters meeting, but the person that downloads the PowerPoints has at least some advantage (even just opening the PowerPoint shows you some of the slides). My modification (download) includes 100 random slides and modified rules (participant picks a number, can pass up to 2 times and can speak on the slide as little or as long as they would like). Feel free to download the PowerPoint deck — the slides were randomly created by using a filetype search on Bing.

Bing supports searching for a particular type of file by appending filetype: and an extension to a search.

Looking for something in a PowerPoint? Search with filetype:ppt or filetype:pptx
You can do this with PowerPoint, Word (filetype:DOC), Excel (filetype:XLS), Adobe (filetype:PDF), possibly more!

You can also search for “PowerPoint Karaoke” filetype:ppt and find PowerPoints that auto-advance — feel free to try both and let me know if you think of other sources for funny, random PowerPoint slides to use with the game!
